In keeping with their commitment to the well-being and healthy development of island keiki, KAPA radio and the Hawaii Island United Way will sponsor a Keiki Slipper Drive via the Kako‘o I Na Keiki Support the Children Community Initiative.

In keeping with their commitment to the well-being and healthy development of island keiki, KAPA radio and the Hawaii Island United Way will sponsor a Keiki Slipper Drive via the Kako‘o I Na Keiki Support the Children Community Initiative.

The partnership will help provide much-needed items to elementary school children who will otherwise go without.

“The goal of the community initiative is to achieve change by addressing concerns that were brought to the organizations from elementary school teachers,” said spokeswoman Kelcie Kohara.

Kokua on Saturday at KTA stores at Puainako, Kailua-Kona and Keauhou. During a live broadcast from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., KAPA DJs will collect slippers and monetary donations for the United Way.
