Hilo Habitat for Humanity launched a monthly drawing event to encourage specific donations to the ReStore at 700 Manono St., across from the Hawaiian Style Cafe.
Furniture, power tools, building materials and cars will each earn five, five, two and 20 raffle tickets, respectively. Items must be new or gently used and in good working condition, and may be delivered to the ReStore during regular business hours.
Once monthly, a winning ticket will be drawn from those collected during that month for the drawing.
Prizes include a gift certificate to Roy’s of Waikoloa (worth $75), a guided ATV tour from ATV Outfitters (worth $269) and a diving and snorkel adventure with Captain Zodiac (worth $240).
“What a win-win idea! We anticipate extra income through additional merchandise donations to our ReStore because of the drawings,” said Hilo Habitat President Julie Hugo. “ReStore revenues fund the homes we build. We’re grateful to our prize sponsors and look forward to partnering with businesses and community members alike for donations.”
For new and recycled home repair and household items that make affordable housing possible in East Hawaii, visit the Hilo Habitat ReStore 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays.
