The Montessori Country School invites the community to join in celebrating the school’s 30th anniversary at its Spring Ho‘olaule‘a Fundraiser from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday on the Pahoa Sacred Heart Church grounds.

The event will feature a fun-filled day of great entertainment, delicious food, a silent auction and chance-to-win drawing, a sale of plants, flowers, produce and baked goods.

For the keiki, there will be lots of fun activities, including a fishing booth, cake/prize walk, face painting, an ocean bouncer, horse rides and the Zoo Choo Train. There will also be a special “alumni prize drawing” and the collection of photo albums from the past 30 years will be on display.

Presale tickets for the ribeye steak plates and bookmark/drawing tickets are available now. The school welcomes any donations of the above-mentioned items for the benefit. Please call 965-9994 or email montess9@aol.com with any questions.

The Montessori Country School opened its doors in September 1983 at its current location. The school, which offers toddler, preschool and kindergarten programs, has become a cornerstone of Pahoa. The Montessori Method of education offers hands-on learning activities and is 100 percent developmentally appropriate.

“The school takes pride in assisting each child to develop ‘a love for learning’ that can last a lifetime,” said spokeswoman Marie Rieck. “Montessori Country School has happily served over 1,600 children in the past 30 years and currently has several second-generation students.

“The MCS staff is looking forward to seeing many alumni, families and friends at this event,” said Rieck. “Please come join the fun.”
