Looking for a good drug-free time?

Looking for a good drug-free time?

The new Young and Sober Social Club might be for you.

“With all the promotion and emphasis on marijuana nowadays, it is important to remember that you don’t have to turn to alcohol or drugs to have fun,” said spokesman Solomon Singer. “For young adults wanting to lead a clean, drug-free life, it is hard to meet other drug-free people when most social gatherings involve alcohol, smoking, marijuana and other drugs. To fill this need, a new group is starting, called the Young and Sober Social Club.

“The goal is to create a network of sober young people who can share experiences, special interests and have fun together, while encouraging a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.”

Membership is free, and open to individuals ages 18 to 30. The inaugural meeting will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Pahoa Community Center.

The second meeting will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Mohouli Bandstand in Hilo.
