Matthew “Matt” Somchai Therrien, 26, died April 6 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Bangkok, Thailand, he was an English major and will be honored with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, and served on the board of directors for Hawaii Big Brothers Big Sisters Hilo. A Celebration of Life will be held 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Laupahoehoe Gymnasium. Scattering of ashes to follow. Casual attire. Ethel Yoneda Tehada, 79, of Lawai, Kauai, died March 16 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. She was born in Kohala. Eileen Ruth Shock, 67, died April 6 at her home in Captain Cook. Born in Ridgway, Pa., she was a homemaker who was retired after 21 years as assistant property manager for Country Club Villas in Keauhou, a sailor who spent six years as co-captain of a sailing yacht in the Caribbean, an avid reader and a world traveler.
