Matthew “Matt” Somchai Therrien, 26, died April 6 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Bangkok, Thailand, he was an English major and will be honored with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, and served on the board of directors for Hawaii Big Brothers Big Sisters Hilo. A Celebration of Life will be held 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Laupahoehoe Gymnasium. Scattering of ashes to follow. Casual attire.
