Dombrigues has worked with patients in Hawaii and around the world for more than 40 years, focused on health treatment and education using traditional Hawaiian medicine and practices. He continues to work as his masters did in spiritual knowledge and the arts in healing, in the tradition of kahuna, who are the “Keepers of the Secret.”
He was trained in the ancient way on sacred heiau in Kaneohe valley, Haiku and the Big Island by his master, Kahuna Nui O Pali Tu Sam H. Lono. He also was trained by his hanai father, Kahuna Pule Kawika Ka‘alakea; Kahuna Lapa‘au Harry Mitchell and kupuna Abby Napeahi.
Dombrigues has been steadfast in not changing the protocols of the ancient ones, for “what is pono must remain pono.”
