Life Care Resident Council officers Jean Wygal and Mamo Hamakawa don’t twiddle their thumbs during retirement. They heard that Life Care staffers were making Easter baskets for the Easter Seals children and they wanted to help. Wygal, who was an office manager at Travel Centers of America, started to design cards to go with the baskets and Hamakawa, who was a civil engineer, started making origami to attach to the baskets. The duo’s artwork embellished these baskets for Hilo keiki.
