HONOLULU (AP) — The Hawaii Supreme Court will convene on the Big Island next week as part of the judiciary’s community outreach program.
The state judiciary said the court will hear oral arguments in the gymnasium of Kealakehe High School at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The outreach program educates students and informs the general public about the judiciary’s role in government and its function in resolving disputes.
Students from Kealakehe and other Big Island schools will have opportunities to listen to the oral arguments.
Juniors and seniors from each school will study a curriculum developed by the Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center and the University of Hawaii’s law school. They’ll participate in a mock court activity facilitated by members of the West Hawaii Bar Association.
