Otis “Red” Roland Butler, 86, of Ocean View died April 28 at home. Born in Cleveland, he was a charter skipper and owner of Marlin Queen Fishing Inc., part owner of Butler Consulting Co., past vice president and general manager of Honolulu Painting Co. on the Big Island, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Celebration of life noon Friday, May 23, at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Boat Harbor. Survived by wife, Dale Butler of Ocean View; brothers, Theodore Butler of Maine and Michael Butler of Illinois; sister, Eleanor Dobbs of Illinois; stepson, Brian Staley of Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews. James Emerson Kalani Iopa Sr., 70, of Kings Landing, Hilo, died April 18 at home. Born in Hilo, he was an auto mechanic, U.S. Army veteran and vice president Malama Kaaina Hanakaaina. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Friday, May 9, at Hilo Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Tamio Kunihiro, 80, of Hilo died April 18 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from The Queen’s Medical Center and a U.S. Army veteran. Services held. Robert Shannon Leannarda, 52, of Kailua-Kona died April 25 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Cheverly, Md., he was self-employed. Services held. Beryl Kalaninohea Blackshear Walter, 92, of Poulsbo, Wash., formerly of Hilo, died April 22 in Washington. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker, member of Haili Congregational Church, Gideons International, Hilo Women’s Club and a 1939 graduate of Punahou School, who attended the University of Washington. Visitation 9–10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Haili Congregational Church. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Aloha attire. Private burial. Survived by sons, Dr. Thomas (Eileen) Walter of Natick, Mass., William “Billy” (Adella) Walter of Keaau, USAF Col.
