The Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union Board of Directors named Tricia Buskirk as its president and CEO.
Buskirk was previously HCFCU’s vice president of corporate development and marketing.
“With this appointment, HCFCU now has both the leadership and the staff to build on its existing strengths and develop in the new directions that will ensure future sustainability and growth,” said Board of Directors Chair Dwight Manago.
Prior to working at HCFCU, Buskirk worked in leadership roles at Hawaii State Federal Credit Union, City Bank, International Savings &Loan and First Hawaiian Bank. While in California, she also worked in leadership roles at Sharp Federal Credit Union and Del Mar Datatrac, a mortgage software company.
Buskirk graduated from Konawaena High School, where her financial career began while she served as secretary of the Konawaena Student Credit Union from 1984-87.
She went on to the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Buskirk also serves as a volunteer board secretary with the World Youth Network. She is married to Tim Buskirk, senior sales engineer at Black Knight Financial Services. They have two children — daughter Jordan and son Matthew.
Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit credit union owned by its more than 41,800 member/owners with branches in Honokaa, Kailua-Kona, Kaloko, Kealakekua and Kohala.
It sponsors Student Credit Unions at Kealakehe, Kohala and Konawaena high schools, Children’s Savings Projects as eight elementary schools from Paauilo to Hookena and supports numerous Island of Hawaii programs and events.
