Winner: Lance Wilson (Hilo) in a GTO (7.47 seconds/189 mph).
Runner-up: Brandon Murakami (Aiea) in a Cavalier (Red Lighted, no time).
Bracket I
Winner: Davey Watanabe (Hilo) in a Chevelle (9.72 /133 mph).
Runner-up: David Francis (Paauilo) in a Camaro (broke out of bracket at 8.70 /155 mph).
Bracket II
Winner: Mike Needham (Hilo) in a Camaro (11.77 /100 mph).
Runner-up: Sean Kelly (Kona) in a VW dune buggy (12.35/106 mph).
Sunday
Bracket I
Winner: Donnely Koga ( Kurtistown) in a Camaro (9.37/144 mph).
Runner-up: Gary Mizuno (Hilo) in a ‘55 Chevy Bel-Air (8.91/154 mph). Koga won on a hole shot.
Bracket II
Winner: Richard Souza (Naalehu) in a Chevy Bel-Air (13.75/97 mph).
Runner-up: Kaike DePonte (Keaau) in a Camaro (broke out of bracket at 11.57/124 mph).
Door Slammer
Winner: Buddy Loeffler (Hilo) in a Cavalier took the race with a slow time of 23.42/42 mph because runner up Lance Wilson (Hilo) in a GTO red lighted at the starting line (7.43 sec/191 mph).
Junior Dragster
Winner: Daesha Tobara (Mt. View).
Runner-up: Kaimi Francis (Hilo).
Fastest motorcycle on the track: Rylan Grillot (Hilo) on a Suzuki (9.20/150 mph).
Fastest car on the track: “Pyro” Pete Comandini (Waikoloa) in a jet-powered Mercedes stretch limo (7.27/209 mph).

Publinx qualifier June 7 at Muni
The final United States Amateur Public Links sectional qualifier on the Big Island will be held June 7 at Hilo Municipal Golf Course.
The deadline for entries is 11 a.m. HST Wednesday, and post entries and incomplete entries will be rejected.
Any bona-fide public links amateur golfers with a handicap index limit of 4.4 may participate, entering at champs.usga.org.
The national championship will be held at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kan., on July 14-19.
