The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a missing 30-year-old opihi picker in Puna.

Peter Mahoe was last seen sometime between noon and 2 p.m. Thursday climbing down the cliff face at Cape Kumukahi in Kapoho. Crews from the U.S. Coast Guard, fire department and Hawaii Police department spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday searching for Mahoe, but turned up no sign of the missing man.

According to a press release from the Coast Guard, Mahoe’s all-terrain vehicle was found 200 feet from where he was last seen. His family was also camping close by and reportedly continued the search on Monday with friends.
