Sandi Alstrand received the Community Volunteer Award.
She volunteers at the Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kurtistown.
Jay Ihara received the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition Award for recognition of his work at Neighborhood Place of Puna.
Community Services Awards are presented at the Rotary Club’s annual banquet to non-Rotarian residents who exemplify Rotary’s Motto of “Service Above Self.”
The Rotary Club of Pahoa Sunset hosts weekly meetings at 6 p.m. Tuesdays in the historic Akebono Theater in Pahoa. The public is invited to attend.
