Velin “Vel” Galolo Gragas, 70, of Honolulu, formerly of Hilo, died May 24 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she was a retired cafeteria worker for Washington Middle School and member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Pauoa, Honolulu. Visitation 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel-Waipio, in Waipahu, Oahu. Services at 6:30 p.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by husband, Roberto Gragas of Honolulu; sons, Ross Gragas and Gannon (Aolani) Yamasato-Gragas of Honolulu; sisters, Marina (William) Pascua of Koloa, Kauai, Adelle (Larry) Weber of Hilo and Kalei Degracia of Lexington Park, Md.; brothers, Remy (Pat) Pascua of Kaneohe, Oahu, and Don Galolo of Aiea, Oahu; three grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in Olaa, she was a retired sales and mail-order clerk for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co., former member of Haili Congregational Church and member of New Hope Christian Fellowship and Lehua Senior Bowling League. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 19 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 9-11 a.m. Friday. June 20 at the mortuary.
