Joseph “Joz” Darius Bybee, 40, of Kailua-Kona died June 14 at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. Born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, he was a biological technician at the Honokohau National Historical Park and also a TSA agent at the Kona International Airport. Daril Raymond ‘Ekahi Aloha, 47, of Hilo died Saturday, June 14, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was an administrative assistant for the Commercial Services Program at the Arc of Hilo and a former driver for E.A.N. Holdings (Enterprise, Alamo and National Car Rental companies). She was a volunteer with the Domestic Violence Prevention and Child Abuse Prevention programs with EVCO-Eliminating Violence Thru Community Outreach. In addition, Daril was a member of Ke Kilohana Oka Malamalama and a past president and member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society while attending Hawaii Community College. Jessie “Tutu” A. Oliveira, 89, of Paukaa died Friday, June 20, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired sales clerk/tour guide for the former Orchids of Hawaii. She was also a square and ballroom dancer. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou; the Y.M.I.; the Portuguese Cultural Club and a former member of the YWCA Water Aerobics. Visitation to be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Papaikou; Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.; Burial to follow at 12 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, Section 3. Thomas “Tats” Tatsuo Sonomura, 79, of Hilo died June 21 at his home. Born in Honokaa, he was a retired heavy equipment mechanic for M. Sonomura Contracting Company, a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, had also served in the Hawaii Army National Guard, and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, 1 1/2 Mile Kaumana Kumiai, and Blane’s Coffee Gang.
