First-place winners were awarded $1,000 and second-place finishers received $500 for their efforts. Two schools tied for first place in the elementary division, Kahului Elementary on Maui and Naalehu Elementary in Ka‘u.
In Naahelu, an upper elementary enrichment group led a Kindness Campaign, featuring Kindness Bug Jars and schoolwide field days.
Kapolei Middle School on Oahu took top honors in the middle school division.
Innovations Public Charter School in Kona and Kailua Intermediate School on Oahu tied for second-place honors for middle school campaign entries.
At Innovations, one student’s anti-bullying video became a group project as others helped act and do other video production tasks.
In the high school division, Campbell High and Farrington High tied for first place. Taking second-place honors was King Kekaulike High School on Maui. Receiving honorable mention and $250 was Maui High.
