The Hilo Downtown Improvement Association will sponsor a candidates forum from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, for County Council District 2.
The session will be upstairs in the Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art, 141 Kalakaua St. Everyone is invited to the program, which will feature candidates Aaron Chung, Shane Gali, Margarita (Dayday) Hopkins and Kerri Marks.
There will be staging by Bryan Booth Antiques, music by Mulberry Jam and coffee and chocolate for sale by Hilo Shark’s Coffee Shop.
Those attending also are invited to place their votes on suggestion boards for “Complete Streets” and other improvements in downtown Hilo.
“Come listen and bring your thoughtful ideas for making an improved downtown Hilo,” said spokeswoman Christine Mingo.
