Dr. Genshitsu Sen, 91, the 15th Grand Tea Master of the Urasenke Foundation, performs a tea ceremony Tuesday morning at Alae Cemetery to honor the first-generation of Japanese in Hawaii. The tea is offered in respect to their souls, Sen explained. He then asked those in attendance to remember the accomplishments and struggles of the Japanese ancestors because they made it possible to live the lives of today.
