Waimea Town Market and Parker School will host a candidate talk-story from 8:30 a.m-noon Saturday at the school.
This event provides a chance to meet and speak to the individuals who want to represent and serve North Hawaii residents.
With no speeches and no pressure, voters will have the opportunity to spend one-on-one time chatting with each candidate.
Candidates for all local offices indicated they will attend.
Those confirmed include District 4 state Senate incumbent Malama Solomon and candidate Lorraine Inouye and District 9 County Council incumbent Margaret Wille and candidates Ron Gonzales and Sonny Shimaoka.
The Market’s Steering Committee thinks campaign seasons offer many opportunities to hear the candidates, wave to them or perhaps shake hands with them, but few chances to meet them face-to-face long enough to get a question answered.
