Born in Bonita, Calif., he was a boat captain, owner and operator of Captain Bob’s Glass Bottom Boat Tours, and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Services held. Survived by wife, Elaine Chapman of Holualoa; sons, Gifford (Sheila) Matsuoka of Kailua-Kona, Peter (Aulike) Matsuoka and Henry Chapman of Holualoa; daughters, Malia (Napua) Springer of Kailua-Kona and Kanani (Roy) Wall of Honalo; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
