Sylvia Ah Ching Kuanoni, 88, of Keaukaha, died Monday at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Ookala, she was a homemaker and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Keaukaha Ward). Visitation from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Shirley Ann (Richard) Kagawa, Janet (Randy) Yokoyama of Hilo, Patricia Ah Ching of Puna and Karen L. (Pete) Peters of Virginia; brother, Herbert Ah Ching of Hilo; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
James Wesley Fry, 70, of Papaikou died July 13 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Mountain View, he was a retired specialist for the U.S. Army, a Vietnam War veteran and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou; funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
