“No money? No excuse, as some financial assistance is available,” said Frannie Pueo, founder of the nonprofit group. Payment is accepted via checks and credit cards.

To register a cat for the clinic, call 968-8279 or email@hphhawaii.org.

Hui Pono Holoholona is an all-volunteer organization that helps the community be pet-responsible via education and by making affordable spaying and neutering for cats and dogs available.

“If you are managing a feral cat colony and need help, need to borrow traps for this clinic, please call,” said Pueo. “There are not enough homes for all the cats and dogs born in this community, and thousands are euthanized every month.

“Be a part of the humane solution. Be your pet’s hero,” she added. “Spay-and-neuter funds need to be stretched over as many animals as possible, so we ask you to contribute what you can to the cost and/or volunteer, if you can.”
