Wailoa Center was bursting at the seams in early August for the open reception for the artists of Abstract Only. Winners were announced and the party began with lots of food and music by Moon Brown and Gary Washburn. Juror’s Choice Award went to Monika Mann for her painting on plexiglas, “Shelter Me.” First-place honors went to “Oliver and Lola” by Kristine Kubat; second place to the wood sculpture “Aquatica,” by Frank McClure; third place to the collage painting “Musical Journey,” by Karen Mortensen; and fourth place to Joesph Ruesing’s “Self Portrait.”
