The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Friday disaster aid will be provided to the state and Hawaii County for damage to public infrastructure caused by Tropical Storm Iselle.

The aid will not be provided to individual homes and property owners, though the county is still pursuing that assistance.

Shelly Kunishige, state Civil Defense spokeswoman, said briefings with government agencies will be held to determine how much money will be provided.

A county spokesman said funds could be used to replace a damaged culvert in Ka‘u and similar infrastructure repairs.
