“We have invited many local organizations that are doing great work in our communities to come together and share their knowledge and work with the public. This year WDFI will be hosting six tours as well as a plant propagation workshop in the forest preserve where guests will have a chance to see some of our spectacular wiliwili and uhiuhi trees as well as our restoration areas and nursery,” said spokeswoman Jessica Middleton.

There will be free interactive demonstrations and activities for all ages, informational booths sponsored by environmental, educational and cultural organizations, a silent auction, workshops, native plant sales and plant giveaways. Local food vendors will be present and there will be live music.

There will be forest tours and a plant propagation workshop. Workshops include lei-making, natural history of Waikoloa, cultural perspectives, native plant propagation and fire preparedness.
