Flora Agliam Cabreros, 91, of Paauilo died Sept. 5 at her caregiver’s home in Hilo. Born in Ninole, she was a homemaker and retired as a farm worker for the Kawano farms in Waimea. She was a member of the Paauilo/Honokaa Catholic Church. Funeral services to be Saturday at Ballard Family Mortuary, 570 Kinoole St., Hilo. Visitation at 9 a.m. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at noon at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire. Flowers welcome. Ethel Mitsuko Higa, 73, of Keaau died at Aug. 12 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired waitress. Tadashi Kaku, 100, of Kailua-Kona died July 18 at his caregiver’s residence. Born in Honaunau, he was a coffee farmer and member of Honaunau Kumiai No. 2 and Kona Kumamoto Kenjin Kai. Survived by sons, Kenneth (Anna) Kaku of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., James (Patricia) Kaku of Fullerton, Calif., Albert (Louzana) Kaku of Cerritos, Calif., Maurice Kaku of Honaunau; sister, Edith Sonoda of Honolulu; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Nozomu Uemura, 80, of Kealakekua died Aug. 25 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Keei, he was a carpenter, coffee farmer, fisherman and member of the carpenter’s union, Kanaueue Kumiai, Kona Shinwakai and Kona Hongwanji. Yoshio Watanabe, 82, of Hilo died Aug. 21 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Waimea, Kauai, he retired was an agriculturalist for the County of Hawaii.
