Police are seeking a suspect in an attempted robbery in May in Puna.

At about 8:30 p.m. May 2, police responded to the Pahoa 7-Eleven store after receiving a report that a man had entered the store and demanded money from an employee. After the 19-year-old male clerk refused the demand, the suspect fled the area. The victim was not injured in the robbery attempt.

The suspect was described as a local male in his early 20s, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, about 165 pounds with a muscular upper body. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, blue sweat pants, black-and-white Converse style shoes and black rubber gloves.
