The Big Island Oval Track Association will hold racing on Saturday at Hilo dirt track.
Gates open at 8 a.m. and races start at 11 a.m.
Admission is $6 for adults and children under 10 are free. Pit passes are $5 for all ages.
Kohala seeking
two coaches
Kohala High is accepting applications for a junior varsity and varsity softball coach and a boys varsity volleyball coach.
Applications can be picked up at the main office, and the deadline to apply is Sept. 30.
Ka‘u Coffee Trail
Run in Saturday
Consisting of a half-marathon, 10-kilometer run and 5K, the Ka’u Coffee Trail run will be held Saturday at Ka’u Coffee Mill in Pahala.
Runners can pick up registration packets at Hilo Walmart or from 6:30-7:10 a.m. Saturday at the race.
All three races begin at 7:30 a.m.

Honokaa football
parking rules
Because of health and safety concerns, Honokaa is no longer allowing parking inside the gate during football games.
Fans are welcome to park in the following areas:
—Pakalana, Ohelo or Mamane streets
—Lot behind cafeteria
—Lot next to band room
—Lot in front of auto shot
—County complex
No tents, coolers or outside food is allowed at Dragons athletic events, but fans are allowed to bring chairs to footbal games.
If fans require special parking accmodations, call the athletic director at 775-8800, ext. 237.

Hilo Little League will conduct its annual members and election meeting from noon-1:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at the community center conference room.

Golf feats
Chris Igawa recorded his fourth career hole-in-one Sept. 14 at Hilo Municipal Golf Course, acing the 163-yard 13th hole.
Igawa used an 8-iron, and the witnesses were Harry Youn, Kyle Fujimoto and Sus Shigemasa.
—John Okino, 84, shot an 84 on Thursday at Hilo Muni.
Witnessing the round were George Yamanaka, Stanley Ikeda, Pat Omori and Eddie Chang.
