Marillyn “Mickie” Kimball, 89, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 18 at home. Born in Highland Park, Mich., she was a lecturer for the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Early Childhood Education Program, a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Hospice of Hilo trainer and child grief counselor. Private service held. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Hospice of Hilo or Hospice of Kona. Survived by daughters, Kathie (Roger) Herring of Hilo, Kristen (John) Otten of Edgewood, Ky.; sons, Keith (Joyce) Kimball, Mark (Ann Rothstein) Kimball all of Holualoa and Marty (Patti) Kimball of Kailua-Kona; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Colin Hiroshi Naito, 51, of Ookala died Sept. 4 at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Honokaa, he was the proprietor of the KWYI FM 106.9 radio station in Waimea. Private services held. Scarlett O’Hara Bill, 74, of Kailua-Kona died Sunday at Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua. Born in New York, she was an entertainer and taught dance. Graveside service at 9 a.m. Thursday at West Hawaii Veteran’s Cemetery. Survived by husband, Jim Bill of Kailua-Kona; son, Lancelot Bill-O’Hara of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Turandot (Jeffrey) Kaplan of Levittown, Pa.; brother, Charles (Sharon) O’Hara of Silverdale, Wash.; one grandchild.
