A 29-year-old Pahoa woman is in police custody after being charged with three offenses in connection with a confrontation in August at Supercuts in Pahoa.
Taniamae Faris was charged Friday with second-degree robbery, third-degree assault and first-degree terroristic threatening.
Her bail was set at $37,000 and she remains at the cellblock pending her initial court appearance Monday.
On Aug. 25, officers responded to a 6:52 p.m. report of an affray in progress at the hair salon.
A 21-year-old woman reported that an acquaintance had jumped her at her place of business, thrown her to the floor, pulled and cut her hair, nicked her arm with scissors, and threatened further harm. The alleged assailant then fled on foot with the victim’s cell phone.
Police were unable to find the suspect until Thursday morning when they arrested Faris in Pahoa. The most serious charge, second-degree robbery, is a Class B felony carrying a possible 10-year prison term upon conviction.
