The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaii at Hilo will offer its basic grant writing course from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the UH West Hawaii Building 5 conference room.
Participants will be taught how to write a compelling statement of need and learn what funders are looking for in grant proposals. Instructor Jeani Navarro has more than 30 years of grant writing experience and has helped various community organizations secure needed funding.
Various samples and handouts will be provided and participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.
Tuition is $55, but a 50 percent discount might be available through ETF funding for employers who apply by Friday.
