James “Jim” Ralph Clark, 79, of Ocean View died July 30 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Jan. 13, 1935, in Tucson, Ariz., he was a retired pressman, toastmaster, contract bridge player, author of “Bounty Man” and U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. Service noon Wednesday, Oct. 8, at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery for a service. Survived by sons, John Clark of Ocean View and Joe Corcilius of Kingman, Ariz.; daughters, Susan Starkey and Gail Corcilius of Kingman, Ariz.; brother, Jack Clark of Kingman, Ariz., Alan Clark of Big Bear, Calif., Thad Clark of Ocean View and Don Perry of San Diego; sister, Carol Wolfe of Culver City, Calif.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.
Mitsuyo Takahashi, 98, of Keaau and formerly of Hilo died Sept. 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Waimea, she was a housewife. Services held. No flowers or Koden (monetary gifts).
