Freshman Andi Igawa shot a 9-over 82 and the University of Hawaii at Hilo women’s golf team was in third place after the first round of its season-opener, the St. Martin’s Invitational in Olympia, Wash.

Freshman Andi Igawa shot a 9-over 82 and the University of Hawaii at Hilo women’s golf team was in third place after the first round of its season-opener, the St. Martin’s Invitational in Olympia, Wash.

Igawa, a Waiakea graduate, was tied for fifth as UHH (50-over 342) was 21 shots behind first-place St. Martin’s in the five-team field.

The Vulcans’ Shannon Abarra (84) was tied for 10th, and was followed by teammates Erin Costes ( 87), Alison Tengan (89) and Mariah Paiste (90).

Simon Fraser’s Jennifer Liedes led the field at 74.
