The University of Hawaii at Hilo women’s golf team finished in third place Tuesday at the St. Martin’s Invitational in Olympia, Wash.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo women’s golf team finished in third place Tuesday at the St. Martin’s Invitational in Olympia, Wash.

Freshman Andi Igawa led the Vulcans (111-over 695) in their season-opener, carding a 15-over 88 in the final round to finish 12th at 24-over.

St. Martin’s (632) claimed the five-team, 26-golfer event.

Erin Costes and Alison Tengan recorded the best second rounds for the Vulcans with 85s. Costes tied for 13th at 26-over, and Tengan was another two shots back. Shannon Abbara (95) was 33-over, while Mariah Paiste’s 96 left her 40-over.

St. Martin’s Jennifer Liedes closed with a 70 to take home medallist honors at 2-under.
