Police have charged a 34-year-old Waikoloa man with attempted murder and other offenses for an altercation that turned violent in Waikoloa on Sunday night.

Police have charged a 34-year-old Waikoloa man with attempted murder and other offenses for an altercation that turned violent in Waikoloa on Sunday night.

At 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, 34-year-old Aaron Nakamoto of Waikoloa was charged with attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $500,000.

Nakamoto, who is accused of stabbing two 22-year-old Waikoloa women in a parking lot confrontation, remained at the Kona police cellblock pending his initial court appearance this morning.

Both women were treated for their injuries and released from North Hawaii Community Hospital.
