Asae Mizuno, 92, of Pahala died Sept. 11 at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Pahala, she was a homemaker, former employee at S.K. Mizuno Farms and a member of Pahala Hongwanji Mission and Fujinkai. Private services held. Survived by daughter, Carolyn (Ronald) Nago of Honolulu; sons, Stanley Mizuno and Ray (Pamela) Mizuno, both of Pahala; brother, Robert (Beatrice) Yokomizo of Honolulu; sisters-in-law, Chiyoko Yokomizo of Pahala, Florence Yokomizo of California, Evelyn (Kenzo) Shinsato of Alaska, Sally Yamaguchi of Pahala and Jane Ueda of Pahala; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Norman Lowell Brown, 84, of Hilo died Oct. 6 at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Champaign, Ill., he was a security officer at the Waiakea Villas, Kaikoo Mall and Hilo Shopping Center, a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Hilo Congregation, and a U.S. Army military police officer. Memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Jehovah’s Witnesses Wainaku Kingdom Hall (445 Kulana Road, Hilo). Survived by daughter, Nalani Johnston of Corning, Calif.; son, Stacy Sauer of Clearlake, Calif.; stepdaughter, Patricia (Barry) Shanahan of Idaho; sister, Lorraine (Tom) Randel of Red Bluff, Calif.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
