Kilauea Military Camp will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, on the front lawn of the camp.
This year’s theme is “Honoring All Who Serve.”
BG James Carpenter (ret.) of Hilo will be this year’s keynote speaker. Master Sgt. Brian Jordan (ret.) also of Hilo will be guest speaker. Other participants will include Father Ronie Pillos of St. Theresa’s Church in Mountain View, Katherine Wilson, Michael Thomas, Raymond Dustin, Charley Mapa and the Hilo Civil Air Patrol under the direction of Maj. Ruth Statler.
As in the past, KMC will provide all veterans in attendance a free dinner buffet. Advanced registration is required by calling 967-8371 before Nov. 7, and pre-registered guests will be able to pick up their meal vouchers 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. Meal vouchers also will be handed out after the ceremony. Guests must present a military or veteran ID.
For all others, the dinner buffet is $25.95 for adults and $12.50 for children 6-11 years old.
This is a National Park Fee Free Day, and park entrance fees will be waived.
