Esperanza “Pancing” Magaoay Acob, 69, of Hilo died Oct. 10 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. factory worker and member of St. Joseph Filipino Catholic Club, Puainako Prayer Group and Mabuhay Club of Hilo. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Thursday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Randy (Pomai) Acob, Clarence Acob and Nelson (Sheri-Lynne) Acob of Hilo; daughters, Lorna (Ellison) Ita and Loida (Steven) Enriques of Waikoloa; brothers, Juan (Nemia) Magaoay of Honolulu and Aricio (Julie) Magaoay of Honolulu; sisters, Florencia Aceret of Waimea, Florentina Magaoay and Norma Maria (Dexter) Jacinto of Honolulu; brother-in-law, Juan (Lilia) Acob of Papaaloa; sisters-in-law, Severa Acob of Honokaa and Arsenia (Marino) Acosta of Hilo; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
