All interested athletes must have a current/valid physical on file with the athletic department. Participants are asked to dress appropriately for each individual sport.

Cheer camp
is rescheduled
Kamehameha-Hawaii has rescheduled its youth cheer camp for 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Dec. 6-7.
The camp is open to boys and girls between grades kindergarten through fifth grade.
Registration at a fee of $55 will be accepted until the first day of camp, but to receive a shirt at camp, the deadline is Nov. 24.
According to a release, participants “will receive personalized instruction on stunting, team-building, cheers, jumps, dances, and tumbling.

Six-player team
golf results
Tengan 2 took first place Oct. 26 in a Hawaii Island Golf Association six-player team golf tournament at Hilo Municipal Golf Course.
The winning team members were Russ Nishi, Herbert Zane, Brian Wong, Allen Saito, Vern Tengan and Ron Iwata, scoring -17.
Placing second was Hustlers 2 (-13), followed by bilo Koreans (-7), Hustlers 1 (-5) and Palaka 2 (-4).
Hilo’s Chris Igawa shot a 67 and was the low gross winner.
Men’s A Flight: Al Tabosa (64), Joe Nakidi (65), Richard Nii (66), Bobby Lebel (67), and Darrel Papalimu (67).
Men’s B Flight: Herbert Zane (64), Allen Saito (65), Alfred Simeona (65), Glen Maeda (66), and Elvis Kimura (67).
Women’s flight: Linda Tengan (67), Charlene Koga (68), Yun Hansen (69) and Audrey Inaba (69).
Kona meeting
Konawaena High will conduct a parent’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12 for children planning to participate in a winter sport.
The mandatory meeting will be held in the school cafeteria (a parent who has already attended a meeting this school year has met the requirement.)
Each student planning to participate will need a current physical exam.

Mauna Kea
charity golf
Mauna Kea Resort is holding the inaugural Big Island Bites Golf Tournament on Saturday.
The four-person scramble shotgun start is at noon. Food and specialty drinks courtesy of various restaurants are available on the course. There will be a dinner and awards ceremony at 6 p.m.
The cost of $300 per golfer, plus tax, includes green fees, dinner and prizes. Admission to the reception for guests of golfers is $75 plus tax.

Library benefit walk
The Friends of the Library-Waikoloa Region will hold its fifth annual 5K Walk/Run for Literacy on Saturday.
The event starts and finishes near the playground of Waikoloa elementary.
Entry fee, which includes a T-shirt, is $20 for adults, $10 for 13 and younger; keiki in strollers are free. Registration begins at 7 a.m.; start time is 7:30.
