Keaau Middle School PTSA invites everyone to the KMS Book Fair Fundraiser scheduled for the week of Nov. 17-21 from 7:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. daily in the Keaau Public Library Humanities Room, 16-571 Keaau-Pahoa Road, Keaau.
On Thursday Nov. 20, from 5-7:30 p.m., the book fair will feature Family Night, where all who attend may enter a drawing to win $10 gift cards and prizes. Refreshments will be served. We invite you to our school to share in our celebration of books and reading.
Not only does the Book Fair help raise funds to support student activities and teacher needs it also encourages reading among area students.
As students grow older, it is so important to keep books in their lives. Students who are readers now are more likely to be life-long learners.
Readers develop larger vocabularies, a greater knowledge of the world, and higher academic achievement.
Book fairs provide a wide variety of books specifically selected to appeal to middle school interests and families including resource books, recipes books, and a section for elementary students. Students will discover books that are entertaining and inspirational.
“In addition, our fair will have bestsellers that adults will find interesting and useful,” said a school spokesman. “Come browse and shop early for the holidays find books that can help your child stay connected with reading.”
