Waimea will be “pretty in pink” Saturday, Feb. 7, for the Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival.
The 22nd annual event will showcase the blooming of Church Row Park’s historic cherry trees and the Japanese tradition of viewing them — hanami.
The festival will include a variety of activities from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at multiple venues throughout Waimea. Look for pink banners identifying site locations sprawling from Parker Ranch Center to the Hawaiian Homestead Farmer’s Market on Highway 19. New for the 22nd installment will be live performing arts at Church Row Park.
Spend the day experiencing a lineup performing arts; hands-on demonstrations of bonsai, origami, traditional tea ceremony, fun mochi pounding; and a host of craft fairs, a large quilt show and food booths.
Free shuttle transportation will be provided among most venues.
