Yukie Tanaka, 91, of Hilo and formerly of Waimea, died Oct. 24 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Mountain View, she was co-owner/business manager of Tanaka Electric, a senior citizen hula instructor and a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, Buddhist Women’s Association and Hawaii Japanese Center. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers and no koden. Roland Kulakauka Mendoza Jr., 45, of Hilo died Oct. 13 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a forklift operator and member of Ka Uhane Hemolele O Ka Malamalama.
