Crafts, cookies and concessions are just the start of the popular annual Holiday Craft Fair in Keaau.
The event is hosted by the Women’s Fellowship of Puna Covenant Church. The 2014 Holiday Craft Fair is scheduled for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the church on Old Volcano Highway in Keaau. Proceeds from the fair will go to further the many charitable works of this ministry.
“We’ve made it a tradition to package gifts for women in the Domestic Violence Shelter, to support children of abuse, to contribute to missionaries overseas… and to help bring fellowship and love to people in East Hawaii,” said Marcia Prose, chairperson of the annual event.
“We also want to provide a safe, inexpensive venue for local crafters to sell their handmade goods,” Prose added. “Times are tough and crafters find it hard to make a living paying high booth fees to promoters.
“Our local craft people will be offering an amazing display of sewn items, jewelry, wreaths and much more.”
“Food concessions and a huge array of ‘ono-licious’ baked goods will also be on sale,” said Esther Schneider, co-chairperson of the event. “And hungry shoppers can select from various kinds of breakfast and lunch items from the food concessions.”
“A nice selection of plants, cut flowers and ti will also be available,” promised Raejean Brown, plant booth organizer. “Remember to stop by and see what greenery will be on sale.”
The public is invited to shop and share the holiday atmosphere.
There is no admission fee to the fair.
