The Sierra Club Moku Loa Group will hold its annual membership meeting tonight from 6-8:30 p.m. in Hilo at Wailoa Park Pavilion No. 1, the first pavilion as you enter.

Marjorie Ziegler, executive director of Conservation Council for Hawai‘i (CCH), willgive an environmental update in her talk, “Conservation Collaboration.”

CCH has over 5,500 members, and is dedicated to protecting native Hawaiian species and ecosystems for future generations. West Hawaii Sierra Club member Steve Holmes will speak about the Keahou Aquifer Management Designation request by the National Park Service.

This is the first such request on the Big Island and is intended to protect valuable park resources, but has broader implications.

The event is a potluck and will include silent auction. Sierra Club members, CCH members and interested friends are invited.
