Darnell Williams led the Vulcans (4-4, 0-2 Pacific West Conference) with 15 points and Tre Johnson added 13.

After getting a tying free throw from Darius Johnson-Wilson with 31 seconds left in regulation, UH-Hilo held for the last shot but Vandyon Lockett missed a layup near the buzzer.

A tip-in by Darry Jones Jr. on the first possession of overtime gave Hawaii Pacific (4-2, 1-1) the lead for good. Jones Jr. finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Hawaii Pacific women 99, UH-Hilo 65: Kylie Huerta scored 24 points, and Morganne Comstock finished with 22 points and 16 rebounds, and Hawaii Pacific began to pull away late in the first half to win a rout.

Hayley Reynolds and Alexa Jacobs each scored 10 points for the Vulcans (2-4, 1-1 PacWest).

Hawaii Pacific (6-1, 2-0) shot 50.8 percent from the floor, including 10 of 19 on 3-pointers.
