HMSA extended its offer, through December, of donating $4 to the Hawaii Island United Way’s Puna Relief Fund for each Hawaii Well-Being Challenge taken.

The Hawaii Well-Being Challenge is a fast, free and confidential health assessment survey initiative of the newly formed nonprofit Community First in partnership with the County of Hawaii and Hawaii Island United Way.

Community First is dedicated to realizing a community that believes health care is caring for health and not just treating disease and where every resident is supported in taking responsibility for their health and well-being by their medical providers, their employers and their county.

“We’ve had a little over 1,000 people take the challenge and that’s a really good start to helping to raise money for the people of Puna, but we want more to get us closer to our goal of 10,000 people,” said a project spokesperson. “It’s really simple — go to hawaiiwellbeing.org, click ‘Take the Challenge’ and take the survey. The assessment not only gives you great information about your health, everybody 18 years old and older automatically gets entered to win a free trip to Vegas.”
