HONOLULU (AP) — A federal grand jury indicted a 32-year-old Waipahu man on charges of producing and possessing child pornography.
Federal prosecutors say Derek M. West is charged with three counts of producing child porn and one of possession.
A woman told Honolulu police Dec. 3 that she found child pornography images on West’s cellphone, including several of her 2-year-old relative. Police obtained a search warrant and searched West’s cellphone Monday. Prosecutors say police found 482 images that showed children in sexual acts.
The FBI arrested West on Tuesday. He pleaded not guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court. His trial is set for Feb. 17.
