WAILUKU, Maui (AP) — State Department of Land and Natural Resources enforcement officers will be at the Maui Mall this weekend to tell people about new fishing rules that took effect last month.
The department says the new rules affect the take of all uhu, or parrot fish species. They also affect the take of many goat fish species such as kumu, moano kea and weke.
Saturday’s event at the mall will help reach fishermen and answer their questions about the new rules, according to officials.
