HONOLULU — Aaron Valdes scored 19 of his 23 in the first half and Roderick Bobbitt added 15 points, a career-high 13 rebounds and six assists to lead Hawaii to a 94-63 win over Chaminade at the Neal Blaisdell Center on Friday night.
HONOLULU — Aaron Valdes scored 19 of his 23 in the first half and Roderick Bobbitt added 15 points, a career-high 13 rebounds and six assists to lead Hawaii to a 94-63 win over Chaminade at the Neal Blaisdell Center on Friday night.
Valdes added nine rebounds, Stefan Jovanovich grabbed a career-high 13 boards and Hawaii outrebounded Chaminade 56-34, including 21-9 on the offensive glass.
Chaminade took a 22-18 lead when Kuany Kuany hit a 3-pointer with 13:31 left in the first half, but Valdes scored 11 points during a decisive 18-2 run by Hawaii over the next 5 minutes. Chaminade trailed by double digits the rest of the way.
Isaac Fleming scored 13, Jovanovich 12 and Garrett Nevels and Mike Thomas added 11 apiece for Hawaii, which scored 52 points in the paint.
The game served as an exhibition for Chaminade, which was paced by Kevin Hu’s 12 points.
