James “Kimo” Haalilio Pa, 85, of Hilo died Dec. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired Honolulu firefighter. No services. Online condolences: www.homelanimemorialpark.com. James “Jimmy” Elbert Reynolds Sr., 78, of Honokaa died Dec. 13 at Kaiser Foundation Moanalua Hospital in Honolulu. Born in Hamakua, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and master diesel mechanic for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., owned a diesel mechanic shop in Honokaa and was a member of Honokaa Senior Citizens. Celebration of life and scattering of ashes 9 a.m. Saturday at Kawaihae Boat Ramp. Casual attire; loose flowers welcome. Potluck and fellowship to follow. Survived by wife, Priscilla J. Ignacio Sved, 83, of Haiku, Maui, died Dec. 16 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Havana, Cuba, he was a retired Los Angeles County social worker and U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran. Services on Maui at a later date. Survived by son, Kevin (Sandra) Sved of Millbrae, Calif.; daughters, Abby Sved of Haiku and Veronica (Marc) Levy of Los Angeles; brother, Samuel (Juanita) Sved of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Cheryl Takeko Torrison, 58, of Kurtistown died Dec. 4 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Kohala, she was a senior account clerk for the county Planning Department, member of Hawi Jodo Mission and Kiwanis Club of East Hawaii.
